As an artist based in rural NSW my influence is always the surrounding landscape and the many #roadsitravel. I seek to understand and document place, looking for lines, patterns and structures that communicate a mark of human activity or are just seasonal patterns of light and shadow. Using my background as a Cultural Geographer I am inspired by “reading the landscape” and communicating this narrative to the viewer.  

These two artworks form part of Inel’s recent “Shadows and Sheds” series, painted in response to Autumn 2020 - clear skies, long shadows and fresh green tones creeping into the landscape. Ultimately they are an exploration of place, colour, scale and pattern.
