A little bit more about the works |
These works, represent recent developments in style and making methods. Recently I have turned more and more towards the introduction of found materials into my work. In addition I have always re-purposed my own work. Re-using elements from past arrangements, reworking via re-firing and /or different ways of assembling or displaying them. These miniature abstractions evolved playfyully by using offcuts from larger works.
Working with stiffened clay slabs, forces me to work/assemble quickly and intuitively without too much thought – circumventing the Doubting Mind in the Creative Process. By understanding and pushing the material to it’s limits, and trusting the process, new works emerge.
My art practise is an introspective and reflective process of self-study. An ongoing project. By weaving back and forth into the past and present my practise continues to evolve, regenerating into something new all the time.
All artworks come with a printed Artist Statement and Biography
