Artist Statement
Known to self #1-5 is a series of works which examines the idea of the blind spot - both in relation to vision and psychology. The idea that there are aspects of personality known to others but not known to self and how this may relate visually to a break or overlap in perspective. I have examined how these hidden aspects may be revealed to us via a change in life circumstances or trauma through exploring small interventions in the photographic image, cutting, repairing, removal and repetition.
