Artist Statement
Perfect timing of spring rain in 2020 made a perfect vision of wild flowers. A modern blend of photography and digital design this body of work is composed entirely from Jason’s photographic expeditions at the 'Permanent Camping' property in spring 2020. His beloved connection to the land and exquisite eye for detail captures the underlying relationships between plant, insect and animal in this unique ecosystem. Contrasting the fragile and rugged elements of this natural environment provides the viewer a naturalist perspective of these mostly hidden life cycles and lets them enjoy a childlike wonder by making their own discovery within the illustrations. Cocooned in box frames, the repetitive images feel like natural history specimen trays and precisely illustrate the perfect circle of life
