A little bit more from the artist: Pockets are inspired by the dedicated grandmothers I see around me who regularly and actively engage in the physical and emotional care of their grandchildren. Each cloth manipulation is a variation on “Grandma’s Button Box”, which was a collection of bits and bobs (primarily buttons) to be discovered and sorted, brought out to keep the little ones quiet.
