Paintings + Ceramics | Nic Mason + Rebecca Dowling
I'm delighted to announce a special duo show coming up
15 - 30 March. GOST stable artist Nic Mason and guest artist Rebecca Dowling feature in this curated show where the works respond in a lovely and inviting manner.
A selection of current wall works from two residencies and a special project* which Nic participated in, invite the viewer to be drawn into small wall paintings/drawings filled with detail. Whether it's little flowers on the wallpaper, potted garden plants cooling down a kitchen or the simplicity of black lines - they will captivate you for their intimacy.
Alongside Nic's works are Rebecca Dowling’s exquisite everyday objects where her choice of glazes from butter yellow to dusky pinks will captivate you on every use. Her response to the Clarice Beckett project* with Orange Regional Gallery and the National Gallery of Australia is rich with 'symbolising the domestic space of last century'. Rebecca has also responded to Nic's Squatters residency where Rebecca 'mostly fires with gas to achieve deep reductions with iron glazes, working in a palette of tonal variations'.
I'm eyeing off their artworks - so I recommend get in quick!

In case you are a new subscriber to our monthly news I thought I'd introduce myself
Hello! my name is Anne Masters, born in Newcastle, Australia and raised in Canberra from the age of 3. I’ve lived here most of my life and developed a love of English, history and acting. When I was 19, I auditioned for NIDA (a drama institute in Sydney)thinking I'd be the next Cate Blanchett! After working for the Department of Social Security, I took a gap year of travelling to the UK/Europe and working in a manor hotel in Cornwall. It was just as crazy as the TV show Fawlty Towers!
I came back to Australia to work for a mathematician. Eventually my love of words/writing beckoned me to study Marketing & Communications. Upon graduation, I landed a Production Assistant role at Crocodile Communications in Sydney. Many years in the advertising industry provided me with a solid understanding of graphic design, promoting products/services, printing/media sectors and much more.
Fast track...
