Lights! Camera! Action!
Well not quite cinema but pretty close!
We have new artworks that have landed for Summer.
These include pendant lights by sculptor Jan Brown, unframed photographic fine art prints by photo media artist Jason McDonald, wood carvings by Isobel Rayson, etchings by MichèleHeibel and ceramic vessels by Jacqueline Lewis. I recommend you get in quick as we have limited editions of the prints and our art objects are all bespoke so you can enjoy the unique markings. To find out more click on the images / underlined text below.
Mid Century Belle | The classic, timeless elegance of bell curves. Inspired by the flowing forms of jellyfish and the simplicity of mid century design, Jan Brown.
Ocean Drift Series | The delicate, flowing forms of jellyfish inspired this series. Their frills move so gracefully as they drift around the oceans, Jan Brown. Below is Ocean Drift Iand above is Ocean Drift II.
Jason has created a limited edition Fine art giclée prints on archival quality 310 gsm cotton rag paper with backing board in a protective acetate sleeve. We have 24 different artworks and each one is signed and numbered out of an edition of 20. Click on the image / underline text to find out more about each individual artwork. If you love flora, butterflies, birds, beetles and all critters small - you will love his prints.
With titles like I'm here for you and We balance each other out, these detailed etchings tug gently at our souls bringing a smile and endearing comfort for the little things that matter. Michele's etching above sits perfectly next to Jacqueline's porcelain vase with black painterly markings.
Isobel Rayson has created a series of new wood block carvings. These are bespoke with each stroke a considered marking. We only have six that would suit any home or work space. You can mix and match to have pairs, a set of 3 or go for all 6. They truly are collectible artworks.
Save the dates | 15 - 30 March 2025 | Duo exhibition
I'm excited to announce we have a special duo exhibition coming up soon. Save the dates 15 - 30 March to see artworks by GOST stable artist Nic Mason and special guest Ceramicist Rebecca Dowling.
Both artists are from regional NSW and recently participated in an exhibition and project respectively with the Orange Regional Gallery and National Gallery of Australia as part of 'Conversations with Clarice Becket'. When Nic proposed having a series of small works from this exhibition and her residencies I was keen to balance wall works with objects.
Nic mentioned Rebecca who is also from the region (Rebecca, Cowra and Nic, Bathurst) and their participation in the above collaboration. The March newsletter will provide more information about the GOST exhibition and when the catalog will be launched online for those who can't visit in person.
Welcome to 2025 and 5000 visitors!
And just like that! its February! Summer is flying! I'm wrote this while in Brisbane having a little getaway and reflecting on how much the gallery has grown.
Our annual show 8 | Connections was a big hit last year as well as our 2nd pop-up featuring Meta Designs. I love my indigenous skirt which Kathy made.
I welcomed a new wine sponsor Collector Wines, rallied behind saving Sturt gallery + studios, opened two shows - Lee Leibrandt at M16 Artspace and Art in Miniature at Raglan Gallery in Cooma, delivered a public art workshop for Shellharbour Council and showcased many new artworks by our GOST stable
Thanks for your support (5000 visitors through our doors since we opened in 2017!)and here's to a kind and inclusive 2025. PS if you love a travel story on the Gold Coast and Brisbane visit stories to get travel tips on where to stay, what to do and hidden gems!
