Feature Artist | Jenni Kemarre Martiniello
We are delighted to have Jenni Kemarre Martiniello OAM join GOST with her small glass artworks from her personal collection. She is an Australian Aboriginal glass artist and needs no introduction to our audiences. She is well known for making sculptural vessels and is represented by Sabbia Gallery in Sydney, Australia.
We only have a small selection of her silk and wool scarves which are perfect as Winter is just around the corner. We also have works from her Seed dreaming, Delta, Desert and Women’s Collections. Each of the works have varied patterns / colours reflecting the stories of Australian native plants, aerial views of river deltas, landscape in Arabunna Country and women’s stories handed down from generation to generation. Two glass art panels capture the ancient landscape of Pilbara region, Western Australia.

Michèle Heibel | Making Time | Gosford Regional Gallery
I recently did a flying trip to Gosford to open Michele Heibel’s solo show. I was thrilled when she asked me as we’ve known each other for nearly 5 years. She’s been incredibly supportive of me and my artists. I know Gosford Regional Gallery have made a special decision in showcasing Michele’s rather large exhibition (only 37 new works plus 8 on loan!). I highly recommend if you have the chance please pop in as her exhibition finishes 28 May and is well worth the visit.
The gallery has a lovely, small Edogawa Commemorative garden as well as 3 galleries currently
featuring Jessica Loughlin, Tanya Alexandra Richards and Ali Tahayori. Photo | Jonas Chow.

Duo ceramic exhibition @ GOST
We are excited to announce the ceramic winners of the 2022 Little Things Art Prize will be having a duo show in our gallery!
Sandy Ji and Roshni Senapati won the ceramic award section in the prize founded by Marnie Ross and hosted by Saint Cloche gallery in Sydney. I was one of the judges and alongside Kitty Clark, Helen Earl and Jane Guthleben we thoroughly enjoyed choosing the finalists and winners for all award sections.
Sandy and Roshni have both been working hard since late last year to create a new body of works each. Photos supplied by the artists are a little hint of what’s to come … we can’t give everything away!

Next up with workshops | Engaging your website and Approaching galleries
Monday 15 May is focused on do you need a website? Often artists think they need one when other communication vehicles could be a better solution. If you do need a website, I take you through the structure / layout, content and visuals required and if e-commerce is required too.
Tuesday 30 May is about approaching galleries. It can be quite nerve wracking to approach a gallery owner and show them your work. It’s personal and no one wants to be knocked back. I provide insights into how galleries work, why they may or may not take your artwork/s and how to improve your chances of being taken on whether its a gallery, retail outlet or even design markets.

We love testimonials!
Thank you again for all your hard work (& preparation!)
and for making the workshops so enjoyable and informative!
Embarking on a new online platform for profiling my artwork, though daunting, is exciting.
So learning the ins and outs of social media and the paperwork required for gallery exhibitions, residencies and grants is invaluable.
